Queen’s Park and Escape Recruitment join together for Indepen-dance

The successful partnership between Queen’s Park and club backers Escape Recruitment has come together again to provide a platform to highlight award winning inclusive dance company Indepen-dance.

Dancers and staff from Indepen-dance, who were was founded in 1996 for disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy, express, and fulfil their potential through dance, will be guests at Saturday’s home game with Inverness Caledonian Thistle with Scotland’s oldest club also supporting the company through a number of promotional avenues and mentoring.

Escape Recruitment Services Director Mark Mackill has previously used the connections established with Queen’s Park to highlight the work carried out by children’s charity UP2us and now the spotlight has turned on Indepen-dance.

Mark said: “As a company Escape Recruitment look to provide high quality and cost-effective recruitment solutions for the Scottish Engineering & Manufacturing job market however as a sponsor we are looking to do things differently and Queen’s Park work with us to do that.

“Being a Season Ticket holder myself probably helps however I am delighted with the support the club are looking to provide Indepen-dance.”

Queen’s Park’s Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary said: “We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Mark and Escape recruitment by helping to highlight the terrific skills at Indepen-dance.

“As well as coming along to the game we will have Indepen-dance founder Karen Anderson speak at our Hospitality beforehand. The Black and White Lounge will be adorned with banners and leaflets and the big screens in the National Stadium at Hampden will be show-casing their dance.

“All this will be backed up with content in the Match Programme and on the club’s social media channels. Hopefully we can help highlight what is a very exciting organisation.

“Also, one of their members of staff, Dylan Lombard, will be coming along to our home game with Airdrie on Friday, May 3 to be mentored by our long standing club photographer Ian Cairns and I am sure he will enjoy and benefit from that experience.”

Mairi Brackenridge who is the Chair of the Indepen-dance Board added: “We are excited to be a part of Queen’s Park Football Club’s match with Inverness on the 13th of April, and we are looking forward to a continuing strong and fruitful relationship.

“Indepen-dance is an inspiring inclusive company that radiates joy in dance. It offers opportunities to individuals excluded from dance or careers in dance because of their disability. It demonstrates that disability is not a barrier to being a skilled professional in dance. We are proud of what we have achieved.”
