Queen’s Park FC – Squad update

FOLLOWING end of season meetings and the appointment of Sean Crighton as head coach, Queen’s Park FC can now issue the following update on the first-team squad.

Season 2024-25 saw the Spiders finish eighth in the William Hill Championship – matching our league position of the previous season, with Louis Longridge making the most appearances with 47 games across all competitions. 

Now, having worked with the squad for the closing stages of the season as part of the interim management team, head coach Sean Crighton has begun the process of shaping his squad, and coaching staff for the 2025-26 campaign.

Seven players will return to their parent clubs having turned out for Queen’s Park on loan last season, with Dane Murray returning to Celtic in January.

Talks have been ongoing with a number of the first-team squad over potential contract extensions, while others are moving on or at the end of their deals.

Sean said: “This summer will be a busy one for myself as we make changes to the first-team squad ahead of the new season 

“We have already started the process in identifying and working on recruitment targets while discussing the future with existing players at the club.

“We thank the players who are moving on for their service to the club and their efforts last season, and also thank the clubs whose players were on loan for their co-operation.

“As I said when I was appointed, I am looking for a blend of experience and youth to maintain the high standards that I am working towards at Queen’s Park FC and work will continue throughout the summer to prepare for an exciting season ahead at The city Stadium.”
