Queen’s Park Initiative Show Its Class

Queen’s Park has relaunched an initiative designed to get local primary schools involved with football as a key part of its strong community focus.

Scotland’s oldest club announced its Tickets for Schools initiative – committing up to 50 tickets for a local primary school to attend home games – will run for a second year.

The campaign will again launch at Mount Florida Primary school, and they will be attending our fixture on 27th August against Cove Rangers. The tickets will be for all matches at the club’s temporary home at Ochilview until the ongoing redevelopment of Lesser Hampden is completed.

In addition to the tickets, the Club will also provide a free bus to take the kids to and from each home match, and each child attending will also get a free Queen’s Park t-shirt and scarf.

A first team player will present the tickets to each school in advance of the game and will also take part in a Q and A and some fun football activity.

Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary said: “The initiative was a huge success last season, with hundreds of kids benefiting and we are very keen to repeat it. We hope this is an initiative lots of local schools will want to take part in, and we look forward to welcoming them to Queen’s Park. It will all be covered on the club’s social media platforms and we will ensure the kids have a day to remember.”

Caroline Gibson, Head Teacher from Mount Florida Primary said: “We are delighted to be part of Queen’s Park Football Clubs Tickets for Schools initiative again this year, and would like to thank Queen’s Park for inviting us to the be the first school to attend again this season.

The children, and adults, who attended the game last season had a great day out and I am sure the children going to Ochilview this Saturday will also enjoy it.

We look forward to seeing photographs of our families at the game and are delighted to be continuing to work with Queen’s Park Football Club across the current school session.”

The Club would also like to thank McDades Coaches and our other partners who have supported the club with this venture.

Andy McDade said: “McDade’s Coaches were delighted to work with Queen’s Park FC and our local schools last season to provide a great opportunity to local children and schools. We’re passionate about kids and we’re passionate about football, so we’re only too happy to continue with a great scheme that combines both.”
