Queen’s Park grab a pizza the action with Paesano and Di Maggio’s

QUEEN’S PARK FC is delighted to renew our partnership with Di Maggio’s Restaurant Group (DRG) for season 2026-27.

DRG is in the business of making people happy with good food, good friends and good times at restaurants across Glasgow and beyond.

Now the Spiders, synonymous with the city and the southside, have teamed up with one of Glasgow’s much-loved pizza restaurants – Paesano Pizza – with it’s thriving base at the heart of the southside serving up delicious slices to sit-in or take-away.

First-team manager Sean Crighton was given a warm welcome when he paid a visit to the Shawlands restaurant and even created his own pizza – and in true football manager style he laid his toppings out in a 4-4-2 formation!

Paesano branding will adorn the front of our coaching kit for the new season while sister restaurant Di Maggio’s will once again front the players’ trainingwear.

DRG director and co-founder, Mario Gizzi said: “Having started our journey in the southside many years ago, it’s fantastic to be partnering with Queen’s Park Football Club, an organisation that means so much to the local community. Our second Di Maggio’s restaurant opened in Shawlands in 1985, and today Paesano continues to be part of the fabric of the area.

“This partnership is about more than logos on shirts. It’s about celebrating local pride, supporting young people, and bringing communities together through great food and football. We’re excited about what we can achieve together over the coming season.”

Paesano will be involved in various club initiatives with the team at the heart of the southside while the popular design a pizza competition with Di Maggio’s will return during the coming campaign.

Queen’s Park commercial manager Kieran Koszary added: “We are always delighted to work with DRG and particularly Di Maggio’s who we have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with over recent years.

“Now with the fantastic Paesano on our doorstep we look forward to progressing the partnership to the next level.

“The coaching kit looks fantastic with Paesano across the front and we were afforded a wonderful welcome when we visited with Sean last week. The mix of old and new between Queen’s Park and one of Glasgow’s modern success stories is one I’m sure will grow to further success for both.”

First-team manager Sean Crighton went on: “Thank you to Paesano, Di Maggio’s and all at the Di Maggio’s Restaurant Group for supporting the club and sponsoring the training kit of the coaching staff.

“Each restaurant is a brilliant business and to have Paesano here in Shawlands after the long-standing success of Di Maggio’s in the same location just adds to the community we have here and myself and Queen’s Park are very proud to be a part of it.”

Alongside Di Maggio’s and Paesano, DRG’s portfolio includes much-loved restaurants such as Café Andaluz, Barolo, Anchor Line, Sugo and The Citizen, with Amarone and Cadiz completing a collection of restaurants spanning Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Newcastle.
