FOLLOWING confirmation Celtic will kick off their pre-season games at The city Stadium, Queen’s Park FC can now update supporters on our own summer schedule.
The visit of the Scottish champions to the southside will be the last game of four planned by new head-coach Sean Crighton.
Two will be at our new permanent home for the 2025-26 season, and two matches will be staged on the road.
Annan Athletic will be the first visitors to The city Stadium, on June 24.
A trip to Coatbridge to face Albion Rovers is next on the agenda a week later, with a Glasgow Cup away tie against Clyde also played behind closed doors during the pre-season period.
Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side will be the Spiders’ fourth and final friendly opponents before competitive action kicks off against Spartans on July 12.
Queen’s Park head-coach Sean Crighton said: “I’m really looking forward to our pre-season schedule with four games starting with Annan at home.
“That will give us a good indication of where the players are at after two weeks of pre-season.
“The Clyde match will actually be a Glasgow Cup tie and both ourselves and Clyde thought it might be a good idea to have a little competitive edge to that fixture.
“I took the B team to Albion Rovers last season and I loved it as a coach. It’s a humbling place to go, and very different to what we have at The city Stadium, but the pitch is still very good there at this time of the year.
“I know Sandy Clark well and his teams are tough to play against so it will be a test for us, and something a little different before the glamour of Celtic coming to The city Stadium on July 4.
“They’ll be too very different games and I can’t wait for Brendan Rodgers to bring Celtic here and hopefully I can pick his brains on a few things.
“I’m absolutely delighted they are coming and it will be brilliant preparation for our Premier Sports Cup match against Spartans the following week.”
Sean will begin to prepare his squad for the new campaign this week with players reporting for pre-season training and testing in the coming days.
