Queen’s Park Sign Chris Mahon

Academy player Chris Mahon (17) has signed a two-year professional apprentice contract with Queen's Park.

Mahon joined the academy in 2014 from Motherwell.

The right winger, born and raised in Glasgow, joined Queen’s Park Under 10s.

Last season he played his matches with the Academy Under 18s, who lifted the CAS Performance League title for the second time in a row.

Chris Mahon: ‘Push for a place in the first team’
“I am really happy to sign a professional contract after working my way through the youth ranks of the club, and I would like to thank all the coaches who helped me get to this stage. I will continue to work hard at my game to improve and, having been on the bench a few times for the first team last season, will hopefully push for a place in the first team.”

Marijn Beuker: ‘Very quick over short and long distances’
“Chris is a right forward who is very quick in both the short and long distances, but still has the control over the ball in those situations. In the last months he has trained regularly with the first team and made a good impression. We are happy to have signed Chris so he can slowly adjust to the level and intensity required in a first team environment.”

Mahon will join the first team for pre-season when the team starts June 17th.
