STRIKER Nikolay Todorov has re-signed for Queen’s Park following his short-term contract last season.
The Bulgarian joined the Spiders from Arbroath in the final days of the January transfer window and quickly became a hit with our supporters.
However injury struck on his return to Gayfield and a groin issue curtailed his Queen’s Park career – ruling him out for the remainder of the season after just nine games in a black and white shirt.
Now, Nikolay will have the opportunity to pull it on again after confirming a return for season 2026-27 with first-team manager Sean Crighton.
Sean said: “We brought Toddy in short-term and he made a big impact on the team – both on and off the pitch.
“That’s what I was looking for and knew I would get from him. He is another infectious character for the group and has a real enthusiasm for the club – people love him around the building.
“He’s still been around during the close season – he’s been in the gym and on the pitch running after his injury. It was so unfortunate for him with the timing – he narrowly missed out on making it back before the end of the season.
“But seeing his determination to get back and help proves his work ethic and is exactly what I am looking for.
“He made a difference during his short-time in the team and I hope he can again.”
Nikolay added: “I’m absolutely buzzing. I’ve loved it at Queen’s Park, and had my mind set on staying here so I’m really happy to extend my stay.
“The environment has been great to work in and I was pleased to be able to contribute but we have a big season ahead and I want to do it again and get going.
“I was so frustrated to get my injury – it was the first muscle injury in my career – and I was gutted but it is about how you react. I have got myself back to full fitness now and I’ll continue to keep myself ready for when we come back in for pre-season.”
Sean Crighton’s squad will report back next month with work on the new pitches at Lochinch close to completion.
