Queen’s Park ticket initiatives are top of the class

IT’S the end of term for Queen’s Park players in the first-team Class of ’25.

And that also means the bell has rung on Tickets for Schools this session too.

Our ticket initiative to bring local pupils from the southside community and beyond has been a Grade A success since introduced four years ago.

This season has been no exception with more than 700 young people turning out to see the Spiders over the course of the season.

Not only that but young people have also been visited by first-team players for classroom question and answer sessions before the big match – and it’s an experience enjoyed by players, pupils and staff.

Head of commercial at QPFC, Kieran Koszary, said: “Tickets for Schools has been ongoing for several seasons now and continues to go from strength to strength.

“It is so important to us as a football club to see the fans of tomorrow embrace the matchday experience and their local team.

“We have loved giving some young people their first taste of football on a Saturday afternoon, making memories for life and meeting some of our first-team players.

“It really is a joy to behold.

“We are very fortunate to have McDade Coaches on board as sponsors for the programme allowing us to transport the school groups to and from games, and the coach trip together just adds to the occasion.”

Each Tickets for Schools experience includes a player visit to the school and a batch of free tickets to a Queen’s Park home game for the school to attend. Programme sponsors McDade’s Coaches provide transport links from the school, to the match and back again, with pupils decked out for the occasion with a free scarf and t-shirt.

Kieran added: “As well as our sponsors, I’d like to thank my colleague Mhairi Gordon for organising each visit, the players for their co-operation and time outside their training schedule, the teachers and staff at all of our partner schools who have taken part and the parents and pupils who have joined us throughout the season.

“We look forward to seeing you all again in seasons to come.”

As well as Tickets for Schools, Queen’s Park has also introduced Tickets for Streets this season and regularly partners with community groups for ticket initiatives throughout the season.

Last week the Club partnered with Glasgow Clyde College which saw 250 students take up tickets to the season finale with Raith Rovers at Hampden.
