OUR latest fan initiative at Queen’s Park – ‘Tickets for Streets’ continues to be a success.
The new programme – which brings neighbours around the southside community together to watch the oldest club in Scotland play right here on their doorstep – was launched by first-team star Louis Longridge and Norfield Drive earlier this season.
Since then, several streets, roads and avenues have got together and paid their SPFL neighbours at visit here at The city Stadium and Hampden.
Our latest visitors were from nearby Aikenhead Road and street ambassador Elaine Perratt was thrilled with the turn-out and community camaraderie.
As organiser, Elaine was treated to a drink in Bar 1867 pre-match as the households got together to support their local community club.
She said: “My neighbours and I enjoyed a brilliant day out courtesy of Queen’s Park.
“We were made to feel most welcome by Kieran when we met up at The city Stadium – and even managed a few drinks with the home and away supporters in Bar 1867 before heading across to Hampden for the game.
“Even though the result wasn’t the best, we all had a great day and enjoyed the experience. We will most definitely be back in the future.”
Head of Commercial at QPFC, Kieran Koszary added: “It was lovely to have Elaine and her neighbours from Aikenhead Road all together for the recent match against Dunfermline.
“We are delighted they enjoyed their day as the latest residents and households to experience our initiative.
“For several years now, our Tickets for Schools programme has been a roaring success in bringing young fans to the club – and the new ‘Tickets for Streets’ programme is a friendly reminder of the football and hospitality available right here on the doorstep of many others in the southside.
“We’re a proud community club and have enjoyed sharing matchdays with hundreds of our neighbours under the new initiative – and with the new season just around the corner, we look forward to seeing them again all around Hampden and The city Stadium.”
