Queen’s Park are back at home in the Scottish Women’s Premier League 2 and will take on local rivals Glasgow Women on Sunday, 3rd October. The match kicks-off at 1:10 PM at the Toryglen Regional Football Centre in the Southside of Glasgow.
Spectators are welcome, but they must adhere to the current Scottish Government guidelines and social distancing rules at all times.
THE LEAGUE

This Sunday, Kilmarnock host Boroughmuir Thistle at Rugby Park, while St Johnstone travel south to face Stirling University. A list of the full fixtures can be found here.
THE OPPOSITION
Last season, Glasgow Women finished in seventh place in the SWPL 2, with 6 wins, 2 draws and 10 losses, scoring 24 goals and conceding 37. Queen’s Park last faced Glasgow Women on Sunday, 4th July 2021 in the SWPL 2. Glasgow Women won 3–2, thanks to goals from Nyla-Jay Murphy and Rosie McQuillan (x2). Jemma Hughes scored both goals for the Spiders.
This season, Glasgow Women finished fourth in their SWPL Cup group after losing to SWPL 1 sides Spartans (4–0), Hamilton Academical (3–0), and Glasgow City (9–0). Meanwhile, they are still unbeaten in the SWPL 2; they started their season with a 3–2 victory over Kilmarnock on 5th September, with goals from Shivohn Honeyman (x2) and Kaitlyn Canavan. The following week, they picked up another three points against St Johnstone, and this time the goals came from ex-Spider Sophie McGoldrick (x2) and Lucy Ronald. Last Sunday, they drew 0–0 with league leaders Dundee United.
Head Coach Barry Rodgers said that this is another “big game” for the Spiders, and that the team is looking forward to it. “It’ll be another tough test, and we need to use [last week’s loss to St Johnstone] as an inspiration to raise our own standards and to be better again than we were”.
