QUEEN’S PARK FC is thrilled to announce Scott Martin will stay with the Spiders on a permanent contract when his existing contract with Partick Thistle ends.
The midfielder moved across Glasgow for three months on loan at last season, and has now agreed to extend his time with Queen’s Park on a two-year deal, subject to SFA approval.
First-team manager Sean Crighton is “absolutely delighted” to bring the 29-year-old back on a permanent basis, in news that will also please the Spiders support.
Sean said: “Scott is a player I wanted to get in January and then wanted to extend his deal if we could. I am absolutely delighted we have.
“He was a driving force in the middle of the pitch and the boys took to him quickly when he arrived.
“Most importantly for me though is he wanted to come back to us, and that was big for me.
“We gave him the platform to play after his injury and I really think he can kick on and have a good season at Queen’s Park.”
Scott said: “I feel great and I’m buzzing to be back here next season.
“When I arrived here in February I was back playing and playing with a smile on my face. It was was a stress test for my knee coming back from a big injury but the place, the feel, how close the boys were, it all helped me fit in really well.
“The fact the manager wanted me back was a big confidence boost to me, but he gave me a lot of freedom on the pitch too. When we spoke about the future of the club and I think the club is only going to go one way and hopefully that’s up.
“I loved my time, I loved working with the boys and coming back seemed a match made in heaven.”
