QUEEN’S PARK FC is delighted to confirm the return of our Tickets for Schools programme for the new season.
Our fifth consecutive season in the William Hill championship is the SIXTH season for the campaign which has introduced thousands of young people to live football and the story of The Spiders.
Over the years Tickets for Schools has engaged with thousands of local youngsters granting matchday access to Hampden, Firhill and Ochilview, Stenhousemuir and more recently at our current home.
Despite the difference in capacity between the National Stadium and The city Stadium, the club remained conscious of the scheme’s ongoing popularity – both with pupils and players – and our role in the southside community nurturing fans of the future and ensured the programme would continue last term, and it’s back with a bang.
Charlie Fox visited the pupils at St Fillan’s Primary this week to launch the new campaign and, working in his new role alongside his knee rehabilitation, edited the promotional video for this season’s sessions.
The defender put pupils through their paces in the gym hall, hosted a question and answer session and signed autographs ahead of the school’s visit this weekend for our match with Stenhousemuir.
Head of commercial Kieran Koszary said: “It was fantastic to see Charlie out and about with the kids and this is what this programme brings – smiling faces from pupils and players, and a real sense of engagement.
“Tickets for Schools ensures we maintain and build our connection with local pupils and introduce them to everything that is fantastic about Queen’s Park FC.
“We look froward to welcoming the pupils from St Fillan’s and many more from our associated schools in the coming months.
“Thank you to the teachers, pupils and to Charlie for helping launch this season’s programme, and thank you as always to our kind and generous sponsor who has ensured the programme has continued.”
As with previous years the young people will be gifted a free scarf to show their support for the Spiders, and receive free transport to and from the game courtesy of McDades.
The Tickets for Schools diary is filling quickly but if any school or community group wishes to apply to take part, please email tickets@queensparkfc.co.uk.
