Queen’s Park can today confirm the signing, subject to international clearance, of 23-year-old forward Will Baynham.
Although Brisbane, Australia, is Will’s hometown, last season he played for University College Santa Barbara Gauchos, in California. He made 24 appearances, scored 10 goals with 8 assists.
Head Coach Ray McKinnon said: “I’m delighted to have been able to add Will to the squad. He comes in having most recently been playing in Australia and America. We invited him over to train with us and he has come in and been everything we hoped and expected him to be, so we’re delighted he has signed.”
“We believe he has all the attributes to do very well in Scotland. He is a 6’2 striker who is great in the air, holds the ball up very well and likes to make runs in behind so he brings further competition in that area of the park and hopefully goals along with that.“
Will said: “It feels great to have joined the club. It’s a big move for me and an opportunity that I had to take. At a time when a lot of players are looking for contracts, I feel lucky and thankful that I’ve been given this opportunity by the manager.”
“I feel like I am ready for this type of challenge and I’m very excited to get going.”
Welcome to Queen’s Park, Will!
