QUEEN’S PARK FC can confirm agreement has been reached with Gretna 2008 FC for the loan of Archie Aitchison.
Archie signed a contract extension with The Spiders earlier this summer and was part of the under-18 team which reached last season’s Scottish Youth Cup final at Hampden.
The goalkeeper, from Annan, will now make the temporary move to the south of Scotland side subject to SFA approval.
Archie’s loan follows the departure of previous No.1 goalkeeper Calum Ferrie and the arrival of David Mitchell.
Earlier this week Henry Fieldson joined St Mirren and Ben Brannan made the move to the Spiders, on loan, from Kilmarnock.
In addition, two players on amateur contracts – Daniel Matheson and Mason Davies – have also left the club this summer.
Daniel had a lengthy association with the Spiders, progressing through the community programme to Academy level to join Mason in last season’s CAS league and cup winning under-19s side under Charley King.
