We are thrilled that SWPL 2 can now get back underway on Sunday 6th June. We appreciate it has been a long wait for these teams. On behalf of SWF, I’d like to thank them for their support and patience and also thank the various stakeholders who have helped us get to this stage.

The fixtures for the restart of the 2020/2021 Scottish Building Society SWPL 2 season have been announced.
The league has a total of eight fixtures left to play, commencing Sunday 6th June. Having played 10 games already, the season will be concluded after two full rounds of fixtures as agreed by clubs unanimously all as part of the league’s COVID contingency planning process. SWPL 2 will then conclude on Sunday 4th July with two teams gaining promotion to SWPL 1 and no teams relegated.
Scottish Women’s Football (SWF) Chair, Vivienne MacLaren, said: “We are thrilled that SWPL 2 can now get back underway on Sunday 6th June. We appreciate it has been a long wait for these teams. On behalf of SWF, I’d like to thank them for their support and patience and also thank the various stakeholders who have helped us get to this stage.
“SWPL 2 is a competitive league and there are never any guaranteed results. It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of the players, officials, and various individuals involved at the clubs. With two promotion places available and eight games to play, there is no doubt that this is going to be one of the most exciting league finishes in the history of Scottish women’s football.
“Finally, I’d also like to thank Scottish Building Society for their continued support of the SWPL. They are longstanding partners of the game and their support has been unwavering even during the pandemic.”
