Queen’s Park would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone who came along to their match with Hamilton Academical yesterday and also to those who helped their ‘Back to the Future’ game happen at the National Stadium at Hampden.
On the pitch The Spiders enjoyed a terrific 4-0 success, and off the pitch a crowd of over 3,000 welcomed the Black and White Hoops back to the Southside of Glasgow.
The Queen’s Park Family numbers was boosted by nearly 2,000 fans from local schools and community organisations who took advantage of free tickets issued by the club to attend the game and support Owen Coyle’s team.
Their backing did not go unnoticed with the club’s Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary saying: “It was a terrific day for everyone associated with Queen’s Park whether that association has been for many years or just for a few hours. It was tremendous to see so many goals and such a good performance from the team.
“Owen thought it was terrific for the players to see, and hear, so many fans with their Black and White flags and scarves backing them and our thanks go to everyone who came along and supported the side.
“It is also right to thank everyone who helped us to stage the game at Hampden and mark our return to the Southside of Glasgow so well.”
Also a huge thank you to staff and volunteers at Queen’s Park, Hampden Park and SFA who worked so hard to get this game on.
