The 2023 Annual International Football History Conference was held at the 3rd Hampden Park recently and welcomed contributions from leading academics and football enthusiasts from around the world. As you might expect, the history of Queen’s Park FC featured prominently!
On the eve of the conference, The Hampden Collection organisation held a social evening and treated 30 delegates to a 3 Hampden Walking Tour and an evening in Hampden Bowling Club (aka 1st Hampden). This event showcased Football’s Square Mile, the World’s Biggest Open-Air Football Museum, and The Hampden Collection’s mission to make it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The evening was a massive success, and The Hampden Collection now has friends from Chicago to Sheffield to Melbourne. They now understand why the Spiritual Home of World Football is found in Glasgow and are championing our UNESCO bid everywhere they go.
QTV kindly recorded the evening, and here is the video showcasing the event. We hope you will enjoy this. https://vimeo.com/845195223
