The Queen’s Park Family Is Growing

The number of people in our Queen’s Park Family will be boosted tomorrow by thousands of new members thanks to the ‘Free Tickets for the Community’ Initiative.

Owen Coyle’s Spiders take on Hamilton Academical at the National Stadium at Hampden as Queen’s Park play in front of a crowd in Glasgow’s Southside for the first time in nearly three years and young members of the local community, as well as some older ones, are coming out to back the team.

Over 20 community groups and over 30 schools have taken up the offer of a free ticket for Saturday’s game in what is one of the biggest fan engagement schemes ever seen in Scottish Football.

The club would like to say, ‘Thank You’ to everyone that comes along with Kieran Koszary, Head of Commercial at Queen’s Park, adding: “We have used the ‘Free Tickets for the Community’ Initiative a few times this season for individual schools and they have always been well received but this is on a different scale.”

“What started out as a nice idea to join the Queen’s Park family, and mark the club playing in the southside again, has grown beyond our wildest dreams.”

“We hope that everyone has a terrific afternoon and enjoys the football. I cannot promise any goals however I am sure the likes of Simon Murray and Dom Thomas will be doing their best to give the crowd something to cheer.”
