Queen’s Park Football Club is pleased to announce the incorporation of ‘The Queen’s Park FC Foundation’ as a Scottish charity, and the Club’s official charity partner.
The new charity will build on the success of the Club’s community activities which over the last ten years have been so important to our local communities
The Foundation will focus on addressing key areas including raising educational attainment in our schools; increasing skills and access to employment opportunities; supporting individuals and families to live healthier and happier lives; promoting diverse, vibrant and respectful communities; and providing inclusive opportunities for everyone to engage in sport and play.
Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation Charlie Bennett commented ‘This is great news coming at a really exciting time for the Club and is the culmination of the hard of a number of people at the Club over the last year. Since last summer we have been working towards understanding the need in our communities and developing sustainable programmes and partnerships that will allow us to have a real and positive impact on people’s lives using football and the values of Scotland’s oldest football club.’
Leeann Dempster, Chief Executive of Queen’s Park FC and a Trustee of the new Foundation added ‘This is an important development and reaffirms the Club’s commitment to supporting local people. Our Foundation will seek to reduce inequalities in education, employment, health and promote cohesion in our local communities and will play a full part in supporting people to realise their potential and equip them for a brighter future’.
The Foundation will be based at Lesser Hampden but will deliver programmes from community locations across Glasgow and the Southside. For more information email community@queensparkfc.co.uk
