Queen’s Park are ‘over the moon’ to advise their Members and Season Ticket Holders who are attending our Hospitality Event before kick-off with Dundee on Friday night that they are going to be joined by Spiders legend Tony Quinn for a ‘Question and Answer’ session.
Tony played in 391 games over a 16-year period and scored 48 times from a variety of positions in defence, midfield and attack, with Queen’s before injury forced him to retire back in 2016.
A stint on the coaching staff had to come to a reluctant end in 2020 due to a number of factors including the Covid pandemic shutting down the Reserve League, Tony starting a new job and Queen’s Park turning full-time.
Whilst pleased to be at Friday’s game Tony, who now coaches at Kirkintilloch Rob Roy alongside fellow ex-Queen’s Park players Kevin McGoldrick and Danny Ferry, has one big regret as he explained: “I am delighted to be given the chance to speak to supporters beforehand however it is a game I would love to be playing in. It is a massive one and one that the players will be buzzing to play in.”
“The present squad have done wonderfully well to get into the position they are in. There is pressure on both them and Dundee to get a win but I would have welcomed that pressure.”
Tony added: “I played at Parkhead against Celtic, scored against Rangers and was on the bench when Queen’s beat Aberdeen. I also enjoyed two promotions and simply loved being a Queen’s Park player. I am therefore really looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and a cracking game.”
