QUEEN’S PARK FC is delighted to welcome Tyrece McDonnell back to the club on a new contract.
The young midfielder burst onto the first-team scene early last season with a Premier Sports Cup double against Brechin, followed by an impressive strike against Airdrieonians in the William Hill Championship which earned the goal of the season award from the Queen’s Park Supporters’ Association.
McDonnell also starred for the Spiders’ under-19s in the team’s CAS league and cup triumph – netting a double in the CAS League Cup Final win over Ayr United in May.
First-team manager Sean Crighton said: “I am delighted to get Tyrece back at the club. He has such good talent and he’s an exciting young player.
“The big thing about Ty is he can play off the left, off the right or in a number 10 position. He’s adaptable and a clever footballer.
“What’s important is he is robust for the Championship and continues to push himself to be bigger and stronger because there is no doubt he has the talent to kick on this season and really push himself.”
Tyrece added: “I’m delighted to be back and looking forward to the new season. Hopefully this can be a big one for me.
“I was pleased to play and score for the first-team last season and contribute with the under-19s league and cup win, but I am looking to kick on again this season and push myself further with more appearances and more goal contributions at Championship level.”
