Under 19 Womens’ Team launched

Following the continued success of the Women’s first team, Queen’s Park Community Manager George Watson officially announced today that the club has put plans in place to start a new Womens’ Under-19s team for the 2020/2021 season.

Community manager George Watson said: “We are delighted to announce our plans to add an Under-19s team to supplement our current Women’s first team,” said George Watson. “This is a step which Queen’s Park have been considering for some time. Now it is happening, we are very excited about the future for our Girls and Women’s section.”

The team will be coached by Gerry Mannion (Head Coach) and Ashley McRobert (Assistant Coach), who bring with them many years of experience in the Girls and Women’s game.

Head coach Gerry Mannion commented: “The infrastructure of this great Club excites me. We already feel at home here and look forward to the hard work ahead. We have a long term plan to develop the squad and can’t wait to get the ball rolling on this. We are also indebted to the Queen’s Park committee for their support. We have already built the nucleus of a team and are looking to add to the group. Having a pathway to first team football is important for the players. We relish the challenge to push young players to achieve higher.”
