Versatile local forward Rocco Hickey-Fugaccia joins Queen’s Park

Giffnock based 18-year-old Rocco Hickey-Fugaccia has become the latest player to join Queen’s Park with the club’s Director of Football Marijn Beuker impressed with the different options the pacey front-man offers.

Hickey-Fugaccia played schools football for Our Lady of the Missions Primary as well as for Grassroots Boys Club before starting a three-year spell at Hamilton Academical in 2018. After a short spell with Drumchapel’s under-20 side Hickey-Fugaccia joined Premiership side Livingston last season where he featured in SPFL Trust Trophy games against Bonnyrigg Rose and Celtic B as well as playing Reserve League Football.

After agreeing his two-year contract, with an option to extend, Hickey-Fugaccia said: “I could not be happier to sign for Queen’s Park. It has always been my dream to play professional football, so I’m very grateful to the club for giving me this opportunity to achieve that.

“I cannot wait to get started.”

Director of Football Marijn Beuker was delighted to welcome such a versatile player to the club as said: “Rocco is a very quick and creative player, who can play in multiple attacking positions. We are very happy to be able to add Rocco to our team and we look forward to helping him in this new stage of his career.”
