QUEEN’S PARK FC is delighted to announce the arrival of Ben Brannan from Kilmarnock this week.
The versatile defender can also play in the middle of the park and has joined Sean Crighton’s squad on a season-long loan.
Aged 19, Ben has Scotland youth international caps to his name and has featured 17 times for the Ayrshire side where he made his name.
He also spent a short time on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle last year and captained Killie to 2025 Scottish Youth Cup success.
Spiders first-team manager Sean Crighton said: “I’m really happy to secure Ben’s services. We have had an ongoing discussion with Kilmarnock and Neil McCann since the deal for Calum Ferrie went through.
“We were looking to build on that move and Kilmarnock also saw us as an ideal club where we give young players a chance and where Ben would develop.
“I know Ben well from coaching against him. When I was working at Hamilton’s youths Ben was at Kilmarnock and was a player who always stood out for their under-18s.
“He’s another player who can play different positions – fullback, wingback, or midfield and I identified him as one we’d like in the door.
“He’s young and energetic and a really good boy. He’s been around us for the last few days and looks like he’ll be a good addition – he’ll need to push the ones who are in the team already.
“Competition for places is key and Ben adds to that and we are really pleased to have him. We thank Kilmarnock for their co-operation on the deal.”
Ben now goes into the squad to compete for selection in this weekend’s season opener against Brora Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup.
